Lily's First Communion

Lily had a beautiful first communion. I'm so proud of her!

This book was so exciting to read and even more exciting to do activities with. We went on two field trips and saw a bee hive.  The kids loved this book and so did I!

Social studies: ( Michigan,Geography)
This story is set in the Michigan countryside. Michigan is considered an important tourist and manufacturing state. The kids placed there story disk on the map. We read a book about Michigan, did a worksheet and colored a map.


Mathematics:(Word problems, Hexagons)
Lily and Aj did word problems based on the book. They also made Hexagons using different shapes.





Language arts: (Handwriting, Onomatopoeia)
Lily and Aj copied a page from the book in our best handwriting. We also talked about what an Onomatopoeia is. They did a work sheet and made up there own Onomatopoeias.

Art: (Painting)
The kids made bee hives using paint and bubble wrap.
Religious education: (Bible Verse)
We learned a new Bible verse and colored a picture.
Science: (Bumble Bees)
The kids examined a dead bee. They also learned about the life cycle and different types of bees by reading books, watching a movie and doing worksheets. We also went on 2 field trips to learn more about bees.








Field trips: (Cape Cod Children's Museum)
We went on a field trip to the Cape Cod Children's Museum. The Barnstable Bee Keepers Association was giving a presentation. We did many fun activities and learned all about Bees.














Field Trip:(Natural History Museum, Harwich)
We went to see the Bee Exhibit at the museum. It included a living bee hive.
