Take a Hike, Potato People and Music!

This morning we hiked at our favorite spot! We were looking for any signs of spring. We found some!

We made potato people for fun and snack! (Yes- that is Aj eatings a raw potato!)

Lily and Aj spent some of the day playing their instruments too!

Presidents day fun!

Presidents day! Today we made President Lincoln's log cabin and a paper quilt. We looked at some great books, listened to music, and played outside.

Exploring our weekend!

This weekend we went to the childrens museum in mashpee were we spent time building.(This is our favorite place!)

We also spent a lot of time at the playground.

Lily painted her nails!

We also made a special trip to the store so the kids could pick out there Valentine's day gifts from the money they received from Mimi. Lily found this difficult. She wanted to keep the money and the toy. She was happy with her choice in the end. ( Thank you Mimi!)

What's a weekend without a trip to the pet store to see all the animals. Especially the rats,turtles and birds.

What is Art?

Today we learned about art! We mixed colors in a plastic bag with food coloring and shaving cream. We colored a picture of the color wheel. We also painted pictures using just primary colors. We also read a couple of books.

Valentine's Day

Valentine's day! We had fun making cookies and Valentines!

February book station

Our new book nook February Is black history so I chose books about George Washington Carver, Rosa Parks and other great African American heros. We will also be learning about Africa and African art. Presidents day and Groundhog day books were also added to this months book selection. We are also reading Charlottes Web which the kids love!

Of course Lily and Aj pick their favorite books that they would like to read also. Can you guess what books they love?

Lily wants to read fairy books. She is also writing her own princess book. Aj picked Spiderman and boats!

Groundhog day

We read a great book about groundhog day! The kids really enjoyed it. We also made groundhog puppets and watched Punxsutawney Phil on the morning news. We predicted if he would see his shadow. Lily was right six more weeks of winter!
