The Story of George Washington Carver by Eva Moore- Chapter 2

Chapter 2 Summary- 
George is a sickly baby and grows up very slowly. Even when he is about seven years old he is small for his age. His brother Jim helps Moses out in the field but George stays in the house and helps Aunt Susan. George loves being alone in the wood and looking at plants. George begins to learns about many different plants.  A neighbor stops in and notices Aunt Susan's roses. She invites George to help her with her rose garden. Soon everyone asks George about there plants and He becomes known as the plant doctor.

What we learn in this chapter- 
Science- Photosynthesis

George understands that plants need sun. Plants use water, air and light to live. We took this opportunity to learn about the fascinating world of Photosynthesis. The kids completed 2 worksheets and watched a video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3pD68uxRLkM.
