Moses Carver, and his wife Susan, live in Diamond Grove, Missouri in the year 1864. One night the robbers steal the slave girl Mary and her baby son George.Mr. Carver is outraged and hires a man named Bentley to go and bring back Mary and the baby but returns with only the child. The Carvers decide to keep George along with his brother Jim. The baby some day will be known as George Washington Carver.
