Anatomy and Psysiology: Unit 4 Digestive and Renal System

All of your life you have been eating food - taking it in your mouth and swallowing it. The kids have been learning about what happens to your food after you put in in your mouth. Here are some of the activities we did while reading Chapter 4.

We did this experiment from our book using a measuring tape to mark off how long our small intestine is. We found 20 feet to be very long.

The kids also simulated their stomachs in action, We used bread, water and a zip lock bag. They begin squeezing and squishing there bags just like their stomachs might do. We learned this is what happens to your stomach when it churns.

They labeled the digestive system in a page in there science DK workbooks.

Our Journal entries- Copy work, coloring, and information about the digestive system.

The kids added the digestive system and the renal system to their body wall. It was added over the skeletal system and under the muscular system.

They also put together a puzzle about the digestive system.

The last activities Lily and Aj did with this chapter was creating comic strip about what they had learned about the digestive system.
